Summary We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to help power Bells groundbreaking national AI Fabric programan ambitious, first of its kind initiative that will position Canada as a global leader in Sovereign AI. This program is building a secure, high performance, coasttocoast AI compute fabric that will accelerate innovation, strengthen national technological independence, and enable the next generation of AIdriven services. In this role, you will design and shape the electrical backbone of advanced data centres that support massive GPU clusters, missioncritical AI workloads, and the most demanding digital infrastructure in the country. Key Responsibilities - Lead the design, review, and optimization of electrical systems for new data centre builds, expansions, and retrofits. - Develop single line diagrams, load calculations, power distribution layouts, and protection coordination studies. - Evaluate and plan electrical infrastructure including MV/LV switchgear, UPS systems, generators, PDUs, RPPs, grounding, and redundancy configurations (N, N+1, 2N, 2N+1). - Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, facility operations teams, and external partners to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and compliance requirements. - Participate in site assessments, capacity planning, and operational audits to determine infrastructure readiness and alignment with design standards. - Provide technical guidance on procurement specifications for electrical equipment and ensure vendor solutions meet engineering requirements. - Support commissioning efforts including FAT, SAT, and integrated systems testing. - Identify electrical risks and propose design improvements to increase resiliency, efficiency, and scalability. - Maintain up to date documentation, including design packages, operational procedures, and asbuilt drawings. - Contribute to longterm infrastructure planning aligned with organizational growth and emerging compute workloads (AI/ML, HPC, GPU clusters). Critical Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering; P.Eng or eligibility for professional licensure preferred. - 510+ years of experience in electrical design for missioncritical facilities (data centres, telecom, industrial power systems). - Strong understanding of power distribution, emergency/backup systems, UPS technologies, and switchgear operation. - Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (CSA, OESC, IEEE, NEC FPA, TIA 942). - Experience with highdensity and highavailability environments (AI compute, GPU clusters) is an asset. - Proficiency with design and modeling tools (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or similar). - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to collaborate across engineering, operations, and vendor teams. - Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities with a focus on reliability, safety, and operational excellence. Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting operational teams in troubleshooting or planning electrical maintenance activities. - Knowledge of energy optimization strategies, power usage effectiveness (PUE), and sustainability initiatives. - Background in planning and supporting large scale infrastructure deployments. Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. Additional Information For work arrangements that are Hybrid, successful candidates must be based in Canada and report to a set Bell office for a minimum of 3 days a week.
