Assistant Professor in Arts Education, One-Year Limited Term Appointment Faculty of Education Wilfrid Laurier University. One-year limited term appointment (12 month) at the rank of Assistant Professor in Arts Education within the Bachelor of Education program (Brantford and Waterloo campuses), beginning July1,2026, subject to budgetary approval. Anticipated salary range: $90,000 to $110,000. Actual salary commensurate with experience. The Faculty of Education was established in 2007 and offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, with a strong emphasis on arts integration, teacher preparation, and interdisciplinary research. Responsibilities - Teach core courses in Arts Education in the Bachelor of Education (e.g., integrating through the arts; arts-related teachable subjects including instrumental or vocal music). - Provide leadership and program development in Arts Education within teacher education. - Teach crossdisciplinary courses in other Faculty of Education programs (Bachelor of Education, Master of Education, PhD in Educational Studies, Bachelor of Arts in International Education Studies, and/or Education Minor). - Engage in an active research program related to Arts Education and/or related fields. - Participate in leadership and active service to the Faculty and the University. Qualifications - Completed a doctoral program or in the final stages of completion related to Arts Education. - Evidence of effective teaching of Arts Education courses in a postsecondary teacher education context. - Evidence of teaching diverse groups of learners, incorporating equity and inclusion into pedagogy and practices. - Minimum of three years of teaching experience in K10 contexts with an Arts Education focus. - Productive research program in Arts Education and/or related fields appropriate to the rank, including a grant and publication record. - Evidence of leadership in program development in postsecondary teacher education contexts and/or national or international educational communities. - Eligibility for appointment at the Assistant level. Preferred Qualifications - Teaching qualifications, with preference for candidates holding Ontario College of Teachers certification, including qualifications specific to teaching in the Arts. - Teaching experience in Ontario.
