You also have the tech savvy to support the visuals team in going live on streaming platforms for breaking news storiesreaching audiences where they are and when they need us.If youre an energetic, disciplined, creative and innovative individual who thrives on building new things; if you understand the use of video and sound and have great technical abilities; if you are passionate about storytelling and sharing content across multiple platforms; if you are deeply connected to the diverse neighbourhoods, people, business and culture that make up Atlantic Canada; if you embrace the potential of social media, digital and above all chasing good stories, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you!We are looking for a candidate with the following:* A passion, knowledge, and understanding of Nova Scotias diverse communities.* Understanding of audience needs and expectations for news and current affairs content.* A strong foundation in video editing in Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere.* Innovative, with proven ability to use video and sound creatively.* In depth knowledge of video and audio standards, file formats and codecs.* Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.* Knowledge of user-generated content and social media techniques and policies.* Experience with daily deliverables and the ability to respond to the pressures of breaking news.* Ability to manage large volumes of fast-moving information and ensure material is directed appropriately.* Takes direction well, works cooperatively but also a self-starter.* Able to juggle multiple priorities and enjoys varying tasks.* Ability to work effectively under deadline pressure and to work flexible hours as required.* Proven ability to edit videos tailored to a variety of formats and platforms, ranging from vertical video for social media to items for television and FAST.* Combination of education and experience equivalent to a post-secondary education and three (3) years of relevant experience in TV and media arts.We want to hear you, and see the work that youve done.
