Location: Remote, with potential travel to New Brunswick as required Start Date: On or about May 25, 2026 Duration: Two years, with optional extensions Role Summary Upstaff Employment Services is seeking an experienced Business Analyst Data Engineer to support the Provincial Clinical Information Solution Program. The successful candidate will support Business Intelligence and data engineering initiatives related to the standardization and implementation of a unified provincial Clinical Information Solution. The Business Analyst Data Engineer will work with clinical, operational, technical, and business stakeholders to help plan, design, build, document, and support a shared analytics and data environment. The role will focus on data platform planning, data modelling, data pipelines, business intelligence enablement, data governance, privacy and security controls, and data quality practices. Mandatory Requirements M1 Education and Professional Background The candidate must have a university degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related discipline , or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience. Related Duties - Support data engineering, business intelligence, and analytics activities in a healthcare technology environment. - Understand technical, business, clinical, and information management requirements. - Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business and reporting needs into technical data solutions. - Produce clear technical and business documentation related to data platforms, data modelling, BI reporting, and data validation. - Support responsible management of healthcare data within a structured enterprise environment. M2 Progressive IM/IT, Data Engineering, and BI Experience The candidate must have a minimum of ten years of progressive IM/IT experience , including significant handson responsibility as a data engineer or business intelligence developer in a cloudbased environment , supporting enterprise reporting or analytics solutions. Related Duties - Designing, developing, and supporting data engineering and BI solutions in a cloudbased environment. - Planning and creating a data environment, including infrastructure, tools, access controls, and security protections. - Supporting enterprise reporting and analytics solutions for clinical, operational, and administrative decisionmaking. - Building and optimizing data extraction, transformation, and loading processes. - Supporting code optimization, peer review, environment maintenance, monitoring, and operational support. - Providing estimates and executing technical work required for data environment implementation. - Ensuring the data environment is ready to support BI outputs for different decisionmaking levels. The candidate must have 7+ years of demonstrated experience working with healthcare data , including hospital and/or community data, at a multifacility or enterprise level. Related Duties - Working with hospital, community, clinical, operational, and administrative healthcare data. - Supporting enterpriselevel data initiatives across multiple facilities or stakeholder groups. - Interpreting healthcare data requirements in collaboration with clinical and administrative stakeholders. - Supporting the design of objectives, key results, performance indicators, and healthcare reporting structures. - Helping ensure healthcare data is accurate, reliable, secure, and suitable for reporting and analytics. - Supporting data documentation, lineage, classification, and sensitivity tracking. - Contributing to a shared CIS data ecosystem that supports standardized clinical and operational decisionmaking. S1 Stakeholder Collaboration and Technical Translation The candidate must have 7+ years of demonstrated experience collaborating with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to translate business needs into technically sound data engineering or BI solutions. S2 Modern Data Platform Design and Operation The candidate must have 7+ years of demonstrated experience designing, building, and operating modern data platforms that support enterprise reporting and analytics, including data warehouses or lakehouses using layered architectures such as curated ingestion and dimensional models. S3 CIS Data Structures and Reporting Environments The candidate must have 7+ years of demonstrated experience working with Clinical Information Solution data structures and reporting environments , with sufficient understanding of clinical workflows to accurately interpret, validate, and troubleshoot data outputs. Related Duties - Working with CIS data structures, reporting environments, and healthcare data sources. - Understanding clinical workflows well enough to interpret and validate related data outputs. - Troubleshooting data issues related to clinical, operational, and reporting requirements. - Supporting data validation and testing activities for CISrelated reporting and BI outputs. - Collaborating with clinical stakeholders and SMEs to confirm the accuracy and meaning of data outputs. - Supporting the development of reporting frameworks aligned with clinical and operational needs. - Documenting data lineage, data sources, data definitions, and reporting logic.
