Known for their commitment to sustainability, technical excellence, and employee development, the firm fosters a highly collaborative environment and has been recognized as a top employer for its culture and workplace experience.The OpportunityAn Associate-level Electrical Engineer is being added to support the continued growth of the Ottawa office. This position is suited for a seasoned building services professional who brings both technical depth and leadership capability.This individual will play a key role in overseeing electrical design delivery, guiding project teams, and maintaining strong client relationships. The role blends hands-on engineering with project oversight, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, meet financial targets, and align with internal quality standards.Beyond project work, the successful candidate will contribute to business development efforts, support process improvements, and mentor junior team members while helping shape the direction of the electrical practice locally.Key ResponsibilitiesLead electrical engineering projects from concept through to completion.Develop and review design concepts, reports, and system strategies.Manage project budgets, timelines, and overall financial performance.Review and approve technical deliverables including drawings, calculations, and specifications.Coordinate with architects, contractors, and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution.Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.Oversee quality assurance processes and uphold internal project standards.Support proposal development and contribute to business development initiatives.Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.Provide leadership and mentorship to engineers, designers, and project staff.Participate in recruitment, performance management, and team development.Support contract administration activities including change orders and site coordination.Monitor project schedules, resource allocation, and task completion.Assist with invoicing processes and accounts receivable tracking.Qualifications & Experience8+ years of experience in electrical building services consulting.Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or P.L.Eng. designation in Ontario with the ability to seal documents.Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes, standards, and industry practices.Proven experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects.Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and deliver presentations.Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.Solid understanding of construction procurement methods and project delivery models.Experience with sustainable design or LEED projects is considered an asset.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.Compensation TransparencyThe expected salary range for this role is $110,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
