This role is a permanent full-time position on-site with our Caribbean team.What does a typical day look like for our Project Managers? Project Managers at Avia NG are the central hub and manage projects from start to finish. Specific tasks include:Oversee the planning, design and construction phase services for airfield infrastructure projects; Develop and prepare figures, design drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, quantity take-offs, technical reports, etc.; Undertake research activities to identify and develop potential solutions to design challenges associated with airfield facility design/construction; Project management and contract administration duties (resident and non-resident) for airport infrastructure and planning projects including but not limited to the preparation of budget/schedule updates, progress payment certificates, shop drawing review, site instructions, change orders, commissioning inspections, etc.; Undertake research activities to identify and develop potential solutions to design challenges associated with airfield facility design/construction;Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current airport design and planning Transport Canada, ICAO, FAA, IATA, ASSI, ECCAA and related standards and recommended practices; Provide QA/QC for in-progress and completed designs; Consult with suppliers or contractors to interpret specifications or other contract criteria; Develop and maintain client relationships effectively; Inspect project construction sites and evaluate contractor work to determine compliance with Contract Documents and prepare daily records, summary reports, update schedules, and other documentation as required.Assist with the preparation of proposals.Provide support to the Project Team as required.Monitor the contractor with respect to the design of the facility. This includes quality assurance checks, facilitate shop drawing review, review of necessary design or product changes.Prepared applicable contractor reporting forms.Prepare regular status and management reports regarding progress of work, costs versus budget, quality, schedule. This will include progress photos, daily work summaries, etc.Support the project team on keeping the client and stakeholders informed on project status and impacts on airfield operationsPlan and conduct site visits, site reviews and field surveys; andMentoring of junior staff.What do we need from you? Our best fit for this role would be a self-starter 5-year civil engineer who has experience in civil engineering design or project engineering, and is known for seeing ahead of the curve, getting in front of problems before they arise.Additional skills and experience we are seeking:Motivated Engineer-in-Training or P. Eng with up to 5 years of experienceDemonstrated experience and/or interest in civil engineering, design or project coordination/management for the aviation /transportation industryStrong communication and report writing skills and ability to prioritize/manage multiple project timelines.Proficient with MS Office suite of programs (MS Word, Excel, Outlook), experience with AutoCAD Civil3D would be advantageousValid Drivers licenseTopographic survey experience, geotechnical/pavement design knowledge are considered assetsHow To Apply: Interested Candidates should submit a cover letter and resume to .
