Job Title: Litigation Associate (8+ Years)Location: Midtown Toronto, ONJob Type: Full-TimeAbout the RoleWe are working with a well-established, full-service mid-sized law firm in downtown Toronto seeking a Senior Litigation Associate (8+ years) to join its highly regarded litigation group. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex, high-stakes matters across a broad range of practice areas while working closely with experienced partners and mentoring junior lawyers.Youll play a central role in developing litigation strategy, managing sophisticated files, and delivering strong advocacy in a collaborative, client-focused environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a diverse caseload including commercial litigation, civil disputes, and/or regulatory mattersDevelop and execute litigation strategies from inception through resolution, including trials and appealsDraft and review pleadings, motion materials, factums, affidavits, and complex legal correspondenceConduct advanced legal research and provide strategic advice to clientsAppear regularly on motions, discoveries, case conferences, pre-trials, and hearingsAct as lead or second chair in trials and arbitrations, as appropriateOversee trial preparation including preparation of briefs, witness examinations, and overall case strategyLiaise directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court staffManage timelines, budgets, and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirementsSupervise and mentor junior associates, students, and clerksCollaborate with partners on business development and client relationship managementQualifications8+ years of post-call experience in litigation at a reputable law firmStrong expertise in Ontario civil procedure and court processesDemonstrated experience handling complex litigation matters with increasing autonomyExcellent drafting, research, and oral advocacy skillsProven ability to manage files independently and lead litigation teamsStrong organizational, project management, and leadership capabilitiesExcellent communication and client management skillsMember in good standing with the Law Society of OntarioNice-to-Have SkillsExperience with commercial litigation, construction disputes, employment litigation, or professional liability Trial and/or arbitration experience as lead or second chair Familiarity with eDiscovery tools and litigation technology platforms Experience mentoring and developing junior lawyers Portable partial book of business or demonstrated interest in business developmentWork ArrangementHybrid positionCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive compensation package commensurate with seniorityPerformance-based bonus structureComprehensive health and dental benefitsPaid vacation and personal daysOngoing professional development and advancement opportunitiesAbout Minted Search GroupWe work with mid-sized and boutique law and accounting firms and private companies across Canada and the U.S. the kinds of organizations doing top-tier work without the layers of a massive shop.
