Job Description

Senior Sprinkler Designer/ Project Manager (VT-126) Location: Toronto Schedule: 37.5 hrs/week Work arrangement: On-site Salary: $80,000 - $110,000, based on experience Job Description As part of a dynamic design team, you will take on a key leadership role overseeing a marquee, multimilliondollar project scheduled over the next five years. This flagship initiative will allow you to influence technical direction, coordinate major project phases, and contribute to innovative fire protection solutions of significant scale and visibility. Responsibilities - Preparing detailed drawings based on architectural, structural, and mechanical plans using AutoCAD, Revit, and HydraCAD. - Performing BIM coordination, 3D modeling, and participating in interdisciplinary coordination meetings. - Positioning sprinklers and designing systems in accordance with current codes and standards. - Reviewing, verifying, and adjusting drawings throughout the project lifecycle to ensure technical accuracy and compliance. - Working closely with project managers, engineers, installers, and other trades to ensure proper coordination, problemsolving, and alignment of project objectives. - Identifying material requirements, ordering materials based on coordinated drawings using HydraList, and supporting procurement activities. - Participating in project planning by assessing design constraints, timelines, and construction considerations. - Conducting field surveys to gather information necessary for accurate design and installation drawings. - Providing technical support to project teams, contributing to decisionmaking, and helping maintain project schedules and client expectations. Success Factors - Diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology or Design or High School diploma with equivalent relevant experience. - Minimum of 10 years of fire protection drafting experience. - Proficiency in computerassisted design with AutoCAD and experience with Revit. - Knowledge of HydraCAD (an asset). - Knowledge of standards and codes governing the design and installation of automatic fire protection systems. - Valid drivers license and vehicle.
