Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR & Payroll Specialist with experience in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for full-cycle payroll processing, supporting HR operations, and ensuring compliance with Ontario employment standards and applicable legislation. The ideal candidate has strong systems knowledge, including UKG and ADP, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on setting.Key Responsibilities:Payroll AdministrationProcess full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees (weekly/bi-weekly)Maintain accurate payroll records, including timekeeping, overtime, shift premiums, and vacation payEnsure compliance with Ontario payroll legislation (ESA, CPP, EI, income tax)Administer employee benefits and deductions, including pensions and group benefitsPrepare and reconcile payroll reports, Records of Employment (ROEs), and year-end reporting (T4s, T4As)Respond to payroll-related inquiries and liaise with third-party providersHuman Resources SupportMaintain employee records and ensure HRIS data accuracySupport recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processesAssist with employee relations, attendance tracking, and policy administrationCoordinate health and safety documentation and compliance in a manufacturing environmentSupport performance management and training initiativesCompliance and ReportingEnsure compliance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act and company policiesSupport internal and external auditsPrepare reports and maintain accurate documentationHandle confidential information with discretionQualifications and Experience:35+ years of payroll and HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environmentExperience with UKG and/or ADP payroll systemsStrong knowledge of Ontario payroll regulations and employment standardsExperience with unionized or hourly workforces is an assetPCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation or in progress preferredSkills and Competencies:Strong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and HR systemsHigh level of confidentiality and professionalismWhat We Offer:Competitive salary and benefits packageOpportunities for professional growth and developmentSupportive and collaborative team environmentStable, established manufacturing organization
