One of our clients, a major oil and gas company has tasked us with identifying a Senior Maintenance Planner / Turnaround Planner (Level III) to support a 1year contract assignment in Southwestern Ontario. This role will support turnaround, shutdown, and major maintenance activities, providing detailed planning and execution support for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, rotating equipment, and fixed equipment scopes.The successful candidate will be responsible for developing fieldready job plans and execution packages that ensure safe, efficient, and costcontrolled delivery in accordance with approved schedules, procedures, and standards.Main FunctionsDevelop detailed job plans for mechanical resources in alignment with turnaround schedules and approved work lists.Prepare field execution work planning packages for repairs and construction activities involving fixed equipment, electrical, instrumentation, rotating equipment, analyzers, and related assets.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesIn addition to all Level I and II responsibilities, the Level III planner will:Develop fully detailed job plans including:Work steps and durationsResource requirementsSafety plans and job hazard considerationsEfficient task sequencing for field executionRepair proceduresDrawings, specifications, and redline documentationScheduling logic and sequencingMaterial, tooling, and equipment requirementsGantt chartsTotal labor hours and cost estimatesCoordinate planning activities in accordance with turnaround procedures, schedules, cost estimates, safety requirements, and quality standards.Work closely with schedulers to finalize, optimize, and steward integrated turnaround schedules.Perform critical and nearcritical path analysis and support milestone planning.Manage detailed lineitem work lists throughout the turnaround lifecycle.Coordinate multicraft job plans with disciplinespecific planners.Update plans based on approved scope changes, field change orders, and emerging work.Communicate daily with execution supervision to monitor progress and validate plan effectiveness.Walk down job packages and verify scope against drawings, prints, and field conditions.Perform prestartup safety reviews (PSSR) and generate punch lists as required.Confirm progress against key turnaround milestones with execution teams.Prepare planning, review, and turnaround documentation for formal reviews.Participate in planning and scheduling peer assists and turnaround reviews.Verify readiness activities, including:Contractor execution of approved work packagesBid award contracts and contractor selectionLonglead and shortterm material procurementOpen work orders by disciplineLogistics, security, mobilization, and demobilization planningConduct postturnaround walkthroughs and support incorporation of lessons learned and best practices.Skills and QualificationsPrevious experience in a senior mechanical or turnaround planning role.Extensive knowledge of mechanical disciplines including pipefitting, welding, boilermaking, rotating equipment, electrical, instrumentation, and inspection techniques.Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, isometrics, and P&IDs.Ability to manage field changes and redline drawings.Experience supporting turnaround execution, shutdown, and startup activities.Familiarity with Management of Change (MOC) and PreStartup Safety Review (PSSR) processes.Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.Site safety training, permitting system qualification, PPE, fall protection, and respiratory protection (SCBA) as required.Physical RequirementsRegularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and access field areas.Ability to lift up to 10 lbs regularly, 25 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.Close vision required for reviewing drawings, work packages, and technical documentation.If you're interested, apply!
