The full Plan can be viewed on ttc.ca. Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Streetcar Infrastructure team. Responsibilities Provide a range of technical, analytical, administrative, financial, and field functions to support planning and coordination of the sections Capital and Operational work activities. Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs, manage the track inspection program, and oversee condition monitoring for the streetcar network, including concrete infrastructure. Conduct technical assignments using specialized measuring instruments related to maintenance, inspection, testing, improvement, and repair of the surface track network. Develop, monitor, and update the sections five and ten year Capital Programs based on inspections, repair priorities, construction efficiency, and evaluation of structural defects. Assist with detailed schedule planning and analysis, construction claims analysis, constructability reviews, and administration of construction services and labour resource planning. Review inspection reports, condition surveys, and priority ratings; update schedules and files for Streetcar Way capital projects and contract activities. Review and interpret contract documents, RFI submissions, design changes, and contractor documentation, including scheduling details and safety plans. Analyze construction costs such as materials, change orders, and payments; bring forward issues requiring resolution. Prepare reports, conduct analyses, and make recommendations related to project operations; assist in the preparation of forms and reports including progress reports and work order requests. Coordinate efforts between TTC operational staff, section personnel, engineering and maintenance teams, municipalities, utility companies, and other public agencies or regulatory bodies. Take professional responsibility for work performed, as required by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). Collaborate with TTC departments and sections to arrange testing for quality assurance during design and construction; provide technical recommendations related to the review of contracts and submittals. Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). Directly related work experience in the inspection of medium to heavy construction projects. Demonstrated knowledge of construction management practices and principles, including familiarity with construction and safety laws, contract administration, contract inspection and claims management. Strong knowledge of, and experience in specialized construction scheduling methods and analysis. Knowledge of civil/structural engineering principles as they relate to structural inspection, maintenance, rehabilitation and construction of bridges and underground structures. Knowledge of construction techniques (concrete and structural steel rehabilitation, repair of bridges and structures) and applicable codes, standards and regulations. Proficiency with computerized software applications (spreadsheets, word processing, databases, etc.). Analytical and problem-solving skills; strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication; and strong organizational abilities. Ability to work with TTC personnel, consultants, and City staff with diverse technical expertise. Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of TTC policies and procedures applicable to the work performed; including Collective Agreements and design manuals. Will be required to support night shifts on occasion depending on project and business needs.
