MacEwan University is seeking an experienced individual for Program Director, Corporate and Continuing Education for a full-time continuing opportunity with the School of Continuing Education. The Program Director, Corporate and Continuing Education provides leadership for the non-credit and corporate training areas. The director provides expertise and support in leading, planning, and delivering on-line, blended and face to face courses and programs within the School of Continuing Education. This involves working with staff, faculty, instructors, and external stakeholders, including business and industry to develop and maintain high-quality programs. This position leads the non-credit programming and corporate training, providing OOS supervision, leadership, and guidance to a diverse team of MSA, contract, and sessional positions. You will be responsible for building and maintaining external corporate and community relationships as it pertains to upskilling and reskilling needs. You will also be a part of the schools senior leadership and work collaboratively with the Associate Dean, Director of Finance and Dean. Key Responsibilities Leading the majority of non-credit programs within SCE in terms of strategic direction, cutting edge educational approaches, technology adoption and utilization and quality and service standards; Supporting the teams to ensure a client (internal/external) and student focused approach; Providing direct oversight and support to the senior program managers; Leading the direction for non-credit corporate and professional training with the Senior program manager and Deans office; In consultation with others exploring the value proposition of different tools and processes relating to the design and delivery of credentials (including micro-credentials) courses, workshops, and programs for a diverse student group; In consultation with Centre for Teaching and Learning supporting faculty and staff with issues and training needs on MacEwan''s LMS; Determining priorities in consultation with others and working collaboratively with staff, instructors, subject matter experts and industry partners in the design and development of programs, course frameworks and learning materials including rubrics and evaluation; Advising staff and working with stakeholders in developing programs, proposals, and grant applications; Monitoring assigned projects and activities including identifying project status, analyzing, and identifying any variances, identifying risks, suggesting project improvements, and implementing and monitoring any change requirements; Building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders in the community and industry as relevant for upskilling and reskilling. Skills Strong leadership skills with a collaborative style; Knowledge in the design and development of on-line learning and face to face courses; strong teaching and facilitation ability; Significant network and relationship building expertise; Possession of excellent project management skills. Must be able to manage projects through various stages: from planning (including conducting research using a variety of resources), through management of the execution of the project, to evaluation; Awareness of trends and changes in continuing education, adult education, and /or corporate learning and development; The ability to work under pressure on multiple tasks; Possession of excellent writing and oral communication skills. Proofreading skills are also required; Knowledge of learning management systems is considered an asset; Knowledge of the entrepreneurial support system in Edmonton; Knowledge of course planning and assessment including competency-based learning; Experience and comfort working in a diverse environment; Significant existing industry and community connections as relevant for upskilling and reskilling. Qualifications A minimum of a masters degree in (adult) education, business, educational leadership, or related field. A minimum of 10 years experience working in a post-secondary institution or in a learning and development corporate role. Minimum of 7 years in a leadership position. Experience in quantitative and qualitative research projects within an educational context. Experience in corporate or contract training. Preference will be given to candidates with additional qualifications or knowledge of continuing education, adult learning, on-line learning and/or corporate learning and development.
