Position Overview Reporting to the Technology Support Manager, the Mining Technology Implementation Specialist will provide expertise and ongoing technical support to assist the support and operations teams and customers on the installation and operation of Caterpillar Mining and Construction software and hardware technologies. The primary function is to provide ongoing technical support to endusers and customers, mentor coworkers on the use and operation of Mining software and hardware technologies, plan and schedule and track progress to successful delivery on implementation timelines. The role works closely with Project Managers, Technology Technicians, Technology Specialists and customers to ensure completion of the planned work. They provide troubleshooting and implementation support of the software and hardware for Cat Technologies including Command, Health, Fleet, Terrain, Site Aware, DSS, Trimble Heavy Civil technologies and possibly CUBIQ services. The position is primarily based at Finnings Head Office in Edmonton, Alberta on a hybrid work schedule with travel across Western Canada; shift work, oncall schedule and up to 50% travel may be required. Key Responsibilities Project Management and Execution Manage projects, develop customer requirements and processes, monitor data accuracy and integrity in MineStar and Caterpillar systems, maintain a proactive approach to operational and personal safety, adhere to Mine Operator and Finning HSE policies, support Operations/Maintenance Teams on safety procedures, interact with Implementers and Sales, support site Technology Product Specialists and Autonomous Truck Engineers, and document lessons learned. Customer Interaction / Technology Support Provide technical support for Minestar and Caterpillar suite, offer implementation recommendations, address customer requests via telephone and in person, troubleshoot product issues, provide onsite support, and champion improvement projects to enhance customer and Finning capabilities. Tracking and Documentation Establish baselines for equipment installation/calibration/commissioning, manage central data/document repository, measure actual installation times, support commercial proposal buildups, analyze maintenancerelated components, improve product knowledge, and develop bestpractice documentation for operations and maintenance of MineStar and Caterpillar technology systems. Knowledge & Skills Strong acumen with mining and understanding of maintenance and operations equipment. Knowledge of Mining Equipment Technology systems, SIS, SIS2, TSC and DSN. Project Management skills planning and executing projects. Commercial impact awareness and negotiation skill. Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, risk assessment and problemsolving skills. Professional leadership, credibility and relationship building. Business acumen, time management, organization, and serviceoriented approach. Selfstarter, proactive, flexible, team player, and strong sense of urgency. Accountability Maintain customer satisfaction and contractual agreements in adherence to Finnings Customer Service Commitment and Service Operations process. Respond to support requests at earliest availability and deliver services within acceptable timeframes with safety focus. Deliver implementation activities within acceptable timeframes. Provide continuous improvement solutions. Ensure thorough documentation, reporting and closure of support and training cases. Adhere to documented standard operating procedures. Lead onsite implementation projects ensuring stakeholder engagement. Ensure closeout of implementation and support activities with handover documents and signoff. Education & Experience Postsecondary education in a relevant field such as Business, Project Management, Trades, Computer Technology or Engineering. 10 years of combined education and experience in mining or construction operations. Project and change management experience. Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Knowledgeable in GPS/GNSS systems. Experience with computer networking and database management systems. Knowledge of major fleet management systems, including MineStar/Wenco/Modular. Experience with Civil CAD, Vulcan, Deswik or other Mine Engineering software.
