At WSP, our Resources subsector plays a vital role within our Energy, Resources & Industry (ERI) sector, delivering end-to-end solutions for clients across Canada. Your Impact Lead mechanical engineering design packages from concept development through detailed engineering, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with project goals. Develop mechanical systems, specifications, calculations, and deliverables that support safe, reliable, and high-performing operations for mining, metals, heavy industrial clients. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical design with process, structural, electrical, controls, and construction requirements. Review designs, drawings, and engineering documents to ensure quality, constructability, and adherence to industry codes and best practices. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to intermediate and junior engineers, supporting team growth and capability development. Engage directly with clients, contractors, and internal partners to solve complex technical challenges and advance project delivery. The Skills That Set You Apart University Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. At least 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience in mining and heavy industrial projects. Experience in flue gas, dust collection and ventilation ducting is an asset. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada or eligibility. Proven experience solving real-world engineering challenges, from equipment specification to system design and integration. Willingness to work in the field or onsite as needed and adherence to safety requirements. Working proficiency with mechanical design and modeling tools and a commitment to expanding your technical toolkit. Compensation Compensation ranges by location: AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122,900 $162,800 MB & ON: $112,100 $154,400 NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $111,000 $147,400 Disclosure: The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
