Rehabilitation Service Specialist (RSS) Status: Permanent Full-Time (37.5 hours/week) Location: Work from Home, British Columbia Lifemarks Rehabilitation Services and Vocational Assistance Program (RSVP) is delivered on behalf of Veterans Affairs Canada and in partnership with WCG. The RSS is the single point of contact for participants throughout the entire program. The role is critical in establishing trust and building rapport with participants through timely effective communication, proactive case management, and expert planning. Responsibilities Determine required rehabilitation assessments to evaluate participants'' capacity for improvement and clarify rehabilitation needs, coordinating as required. Ensure services and plans are needsbased, goaloriented, and aligned with program mandates to improve the six functional domains of wellbeing, eliminate barriers to reestablishment, and provide safe, costeffective, highquality care. Develop a thorough Rehabilitation Plan for participants in consultation with the participant, their family/caregiver, Rehabilitation Service Professionals (RSPs), and the Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) Case Manager. Act as the service integrator, collaborating equally with medical, psychosocial, and vocational RSPs delivering services to participants. Empower participants to problemsolve by exploring options of communitybased interventions and resources to achieve desired outcomes. Identify barriers or risk factors contributing to suboptimal outcomes and proactively develop and implement strategies. Qualifications A bachelors degree in Psychology, Counselling, Rehabilitation, Social Sciences, Health Services, Human Services, or a related field. Health professional designation (Registered Social Worker, Kinesiologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Registered Nurse) or a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Professional (CVRP or CVRPF); in Qubec, career counsellors registered with the Ordre des conseillers et conseillres dorientation du Qubec. Minimum of 3 years experience in the direct provision of medical, psychosocial, or vocational rehabilitation services, including conducting assessments and working with individuals living with mental or physical health problems creating barriers to civilian life. Experience analyzing and interpreting medical, psychosocial, or vocational assessments and making recommendations based on critical analysis, leading to the development of a comprehensive plan and program of care. Experience working with a variety of health professionals and disciplines in an interdisciplinary team environment. Employment conditional on obtaining federal security clearance Reliability Status. A reliable vehicle and the ability to travel. Preferred Criteria Bilingual (French / English). Experience working with employers, community resources, and training institutions.
