Job Description

Summary We are seeking a Senior Data Centre Manager to lead the daytoday operations of a missioncritical Data Centre, ensuring high availability, reliability, safety, and compliance. This handson leadership role is responsible for managing onsite operations and staff, overseeing incident, change, and capacity management, and partnering closely with Facilities, Network, Security, and external vendors to maintain operational excellence in a 24/7 environment. The role is customerfacing and requires strong interpersonal skills, sound operational judgment, and the ability to influence crossfunctional stakeholders while meeting service level, audit, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the local Data Centre operations team, including staffing, training, oncall coverage, succession planning, and performance management to ensure sustained operational excellence. Partner with Facilities to ensure availability and reliability targets are met for all critical systems, including power, cooling, fire protection, and security. Lead sitelevel incident response, recovery, and postincident reviews, serving as the operational escalation point during major events. Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities by reviewing and approving MOP, SOP, and EOP activities through established changecontrol processes. Monitor capacity across power, cooling, and space; plan expansions; and coordinate customer moves, adds, changes, and commissioning of new loads. Drive continuous improvement in safety, operations, and energy efficiency, including PUE, by leveraging DCIM, operational KPIs, and best practices. Support customer onboarding by contributing to design coordination and technical alignment, supporting quoting and scope definition, coordinating power, cooling, and connectivity readiness, and guiding clients through implementation milestones. Serve as a customerfacing leader for site tours, readiness reviews, incident communications, and service improvement initiatives. Maintain compliance with corporate policies, security requirements, and regulatory standards, leading audits, remediation activities, and business continuity planning. Support sitelevel financial discipline through cost optimization, maintenance prioritization, and efficiency initiatives. Critical Qualifications Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Business, Facilities Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and progressive experience in Data Centre operations. Minimum of 510 years of experience in Data Centre or missioncritical facilities environments, with demonstrated accountability for live site operations, availability, and reliability. Proven experience leading and developing 24x7 operational teams, including staffing, performance management, oncall coverage, coaching, and succession planning. Strong technical understanding of Data Centre infrastructure and operations, including electrical distribution, UPS and generator systems, cooling plants, fire detection and suppression, physical security, and structured cabling. Handson experience with operational governance, including MOP, SOP, and EOP development, change management, risk assessment, and incident response in highavailability environments. Experience with capacity management across power, cooling, and space, including commissioning new loads and coordinating customer moves, adds, and changes. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices such as Uptime Institute Tier concepts, ASHRAE thermal guidelines, security compliance requirements, DCIM usage, operational KPIs, and energy efficiency metrics (e.g., PUE). Preferred Qualifications Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to lead operational teams and engage effectively with customers, vendors, and senior stakeholders. Ability to influence and align crossfunctional partners, including Facilities, Network, Security, and external service providers, in complex operational environments. Strong analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills, with a proactive approach to operational risk management, incident resolution, and continuous improvement. Proven experience operating missioncritical Data Centre facilities, working closely with Facilities and MEP teams to maintain high availability and reliability. Experience leveraging tools to manage assets, capacity, and sitelevel KPIs; exposure to highdensity AI, HPC, or GPU workloads is an asset. Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. Additional Information For work arrangements that are Hybrid, successful candidates must be based in Canada and report to a set Bell office for a minimum of 3 days a week.
