(employee will be working with or have access to children or vulnerable adults and requires a Criminal Record Check) Yes Job Description In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position. Reporting to the Manager or designate, and as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Cardiology Technologist performs a variety of non-invasive cardiology procedures and routine maintenance of equipment. Using a personal computer and related software, performs database functions, including editing of electrocardiograms, storage and retrieval of cardiac records, and related clerical duties. QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience - Certified by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist (CSCT); and - Graduate of a recognized diploma training program in Cardiology Technology; and - One (1) year recent, related experience; and - Eligible for membership with the Cardiology Technologist Association of British Columbia (CTABC); and - Basic Life Support Certificate (BLSC), Level C. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
