THE ROLE As the Cost Analyst, you will provide financial and analytical support to our internal and external customers by preparing insights into variances, cost per unit, and trending to support organizational performance, key initiatives, and management decision making. You will also be supporting month and year end close activities, as well as forecast and budget preparations. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual with a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.* RESPONSIBILITIES - Calculate, analyze and report on variances at a corporate level for budget versus actual costs - Assist in month-end and year-end processes and analyzing accounts - Perform cost analysis - Collaborate with stakeholders to provide financial information and support decision-making process - Support management ad hoc requests for information and analysis REQUIREMENTS - Completed Post-Secondary education in Business, or Finance or related work experience - Demonstrated 3-5 years cost management experience* - High level proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint) - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal and presentation skills JOB RELATED MUST HAVES - Willing to work overtime as required, sometimes on short notice - Willing to work scheduled shutdowns as required - Willing to modify pre-booked vacations if required PREFERRED EXPERIENCE - Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment - Strong organizational and planning skills - Able to work independently and as part of a team - Strong mindset for continuous improvement Join our exclusive talent pool for future opportunities with one of Canada's biggest Automotive Manufacturer.
