Role Purpose The Data Collector & Lubrication Technician is a fieldbased technical role responsible for delivering routine condition monitoring data collection and lubrication tasks at customer facilities in line with AVT Reliability best practices. Working primarily on customer sites, the role supports improved asset reliability, reduced unplanned downtime, and the successful execution of lubrication and basic condition monitoring programs. The position reports directly to the AVT Reliability Site Owner and forms a key part of AVTs embedded reliability service offering. Key Responsibilities Condition Monitoring & Data Collection - Collect routine condition monitoring data in accordance with site schedules, including: - Basic vibration data collection - Temperature readings - Visual and basic mechanical inspections - Accurately record data using AVTapproved tools, handheld devices, and software platforms. - Upload, validate, and qualitycheck collected data in a timely manner to support analysis and reporting. - Flag abnormal conditions, obvious defects, or safety concerns to the AVT Site Owner or reliability engineers. Lubrication & Asset Care - Carry out routine lubrication tasks on rotating and reciprocating equipment, including: - Greasing and oil topups - Oil changes - Filter, breather, and desiccant changes - Basic lubrication system checks - Follow sitespecific lubrication routes, frequencies, quantities, and cleanliness standards. - Collect oil samples where required, ensuring correct sampling methods are used. - Maintain good housekeeping around lubrication points and equipment. Site & Customer Interface - Work safely and professionally within operational industrial environments. - Represent AVT Reliability positively when embedded within customer sites. - Liaise daily with customer maintenance and operations personnel as required. - Ensure all work complies with customer procedures, site rules, and safety expectations. Health, Safety & Quality - Work in full compliance with AVT Reliability and customer health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements. - Follow permits, risk assessments, method statements, and safe work procedures at all times. - Report near misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions promptly. - Support AVTs quality management system and continuous improvement culture. Reporting & Administration - Complete all required job sheets, lubrication records, inspection checklists, and digital entries accurately and on time. - Maintain basic records of work completed, consumables used, and observations made. - Escalate issues that may impact asset reliability, safety, or service delivery. Required Skills & Experience Essential: - Practical understanding of basic mechanical systems such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, and fans. - Comfortable working independently on customer sites. - Strong awareness of industrial health and safety practices. - Good written and verbal communication skills. Desirable: - Exposure to condition monitoring or reliability services (vibration, ultrasound, oil analysis). - Experience collecting or handling condition monitoring data. - Knowledge of lubrication best practices or contamination control. Qualifications & Certifications Essential: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Valid driving license. Desirable: - Mechanical or maintenancerelated trade qualification. - Basic condition monitoring or lubrication training (formal or inhouse). - Willingness to undertake further AVTprovided training and certification.
