Contact Information Phone: 801-610-8030 Email: Job Summary The job of Nutrition Services Manager Elementary is to provide oversight of the food service activities at an assigned location, including organizing food preparation activities, supervising cafeteria workers, confirming quantities and quality of food items, providing daily operation reports, and ensuring compliance with mandated nutritional and health requirements. Essential Functions Cleans utensils, equipment, and the storage, food preparation and serving areas to maintain sanitary conditions according to established standards. Estimates food preparation amounts and adjusts recipes, when required, to meet projected meal requirements and reduce food waste. Evaluates prepared food for flavor, appearance, and temperature to ensure items are acceptable to students and staff. Implements menu plans to meet students'' mandated daily nutritional requirements. Inspects food and supply deliveries to verify quantity, quality, and compliance with health requirements. Inventories food, condiments, supplies, and equipment at specified intervals to ensure availability for menu requirements. Maintains equipment, storage, food preparation, and serving areas in a sanitary condition to comply with health standards. Maintains a variety of manual and electronic documents, files, and records for up-to-date reference and regulatory compliance. Manages assigned site operations (e.g., supervises personnel, addresses staffing, creates menus, plans special dietary meals, identifies students with food allergies, monitors meal accounts and expenditures, evaluates products, and plans for emergencies) to provide efficient food services in compliance with nutritional and health requirements. Monitors food service operations (e.g., kitchen equipment, trays, utensils, staff assignments) to ensure a safe, clean, and sanitary working environment. Orders food, equipment, and supplies to maintain an adequate inventory within nutritional and budget guidelines. Orients new employees to site processes and sanitation practices. Oversees preparation, cooking, serving, and transportation of food and beverage items to meet projected meal quantities and mandated standards. Participates in unit meetings, inservice training, and workshops to convey or gather information required for job functions. Performs functions of other nutritional services positions as needed to ensure adequate staff coverage. Prepares documentation (e.g., meal program records, reconciliation reports, cash summaries, timesheets) for written support and communication. Processes receipts to document transactions and prepare bank deposits. Reconciles transactions (e.g., meal counts, monies collected) to maintain account balances in compliance with policies. Responds to inquiries from students, staff, and the public to provide information about food items and service policies. Schedules work hours and assignments for cafeteria employees to ensure adequate coverage. Stocks food, condiments, and supplies to maintain adequate quantities and security. Supervises food service workers and other personnel as assigned to maximize workforce efficiency and meet shift requirements. Trains and evaluates prospective new managers to support the Managers Intern Program. Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the unit. Training Must renew ServSafe certification every 3 years. Certificates and Licenses Food Handler''s Permit ServSafe Certificate Requirements Age 16 or older. High school diploma or equivalent.
