The Janitorial/Custodial Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and general upkeep of three buildings located on one property. This role ensures that all common areas, offices, washrooms, and support spaces are kept in a clean, safe, orderly, and professional condition. The position requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while adhering to established safety and cleaning standards. General Cleaning & Janitorial Duties Clean and sanitize offices, hallways, stairwells, lobbies, and common areas across all three buildings Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors as required Empty garbage and recycling containers and replace liners Dust and wipe desks, furniture, fixtures, and high-touch surfaces Clean interior glass, mirrors, and partitions Washroom & Kitchen / Breakroom Maintenance Clean, disinfect, and restock washrooms Refill soap, paper towel, and toilet paper dispensers Clean lunchrooms and kitchen areas, including counters, sinks, tables, and appliances Report plumbing, fixture, or cleanliness issues Multi-Building Coverage & Scheduling Follow a structured cleaning schedule across all three buildings Adjust cleaning priorities based on usage and operational needs Coordinate access to secured areas as required Supplies & Equipment Management Safely use janitorial equipment and approved cleaning products Track cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when reordering is required Maintain organized and safe janitorial storage areas Health, Safety & Compliance Follow all workplace health and safety requirements Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Post safety signage as required during cleaning activities Identify and report hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately Minor Building Support Report maintenance concerns such as lighting issues, minor damage, or plumbing concerns Monitor, set, and safely dispose of mouse traps as required; report recurring pest activity or concerns Perform basic upkeep of the front lawn area, including light mowing, trimming, and removal of debris to maintain a clean and professional exterior appearance Assist with the occasional hanging or repositioning of posters, signage, and whiteboards, ensuring they are securely mounted and properly aligned Perform light non-trade support tasks as assigned Qualifications & Requirements Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple buildings Knowledge of safe chemical handling and cleaning practices Physically able to perform repetitive tasks and lift cleaning supplies Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious Working Conditions Indoor work across three buildings on one property Exposure to cleaning chemicals and waste materials Performance Expectations Buildings are consistently clean, safe, and presentable Cleaning schedules are followed and completed as assigned Issues are identified and reported proactively #J-18808-Ljbffr
