Job Description

As a Machine Maintenance Specialist, you will ensure the optimal performance of manufacturing equipment and machinery. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will use your mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting experience with sensors, robotics, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to conduct regular maintenance and repairs according to diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications. Your skills in blueprint reading, machining, and PLCs will enable you to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members to uphold quality control and enhance operational efficiency in a fastpaced environment. As a senior mechanic, you will assist the leadership team. Work Schedule Ideal candidates must be able to train and work dayshift 6am4:30pm MondayThursday. Candidates may be required to work occasional Fridays as per business needs. They must also be able to work afternoon shifts (4pm2:30am) during peak season and transition back to day shift if required. Primary Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair manufacturing and packaging equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment breakdowns and implement performance improvements. Support quality investigations. Work well in a team environment. Maintain awareness and expertise in production equipment design, optimization, and maintenance. Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery. Repair basic mechanical components and replace parts such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges, and switches. Document and track changeover times and records. Follow all safety rules and procedures including Lockout/Tagout, housekeeping, and 5S standards, and observe operations to ensure a safe work environment. Execute preventative mechanics. Perform other related duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications 610years of experience as a mechanic or die setter in industrial manufacturing (e.g., Pharma, Automotive, Food, Health Care, Beverage). Preferred experience in a leadership or supervisory role such as mechanic lead hand or shift supervisor. Strong preference for candidates with experience with lean manufacturing, vendors, and/or supply chain matters. Preferably supervisory experience in maintenance or similar fields. Conflict resolution skills would be an asset. Experience with automated production processes and related equipment, including robotics, is an asset. Experience in setting up equipment and making fine adjustments for optimized operation. Good oral and written communication skills and ability to document work completed. Strong technical problemsolving skills and understanding of automation controls, sensors, etc. Selfmanaged team player, adept at working with teams in a production environment. Proven technical competency in equipment optimization and maintenance. Experience with analyzing and improving maintenance plans and procedures. Experience with part lists for ordering parts and dealing with machine shops and outside vendors. Good leadership skills and ability to work independently. Must have a mechanical background or training to support the application. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical/automotive) is a definitive advantage. Extensive stamping press knowledge would be beneficial but is not required. Experience maintaining and servicing packaging and stamping press equipment. Strong rootcause and troubleshooting skills. Experience maintaining die presses within a manufacturing environment or equivalent training and experience. 443A certification and/or millwright certificate preferred. Robotics experience and PLC knowledge are assets. Machine shop and fabrication skills are assets.
