Qualifications Current Certificate of Registration - College of Nurses of Ontario required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP) Certificate required (recent within the last twelve months) Current Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Certificate an asset Demonstrated experience working with individuals with serious mental illness required Knowledge of Recovery Oriented Practice Supporting Patient Choice Good working knowledge of the College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Nursing Practice required Knowledge of Forensic Nursing and Legal Framework is an asset Basic computer knowledge is an asset Skills/Abilities Ability to apply conflict resolution skills required Excellent level of interpersonal skills required Must be able to respond and fully participate in all codes (White, Red, etc.) required Must adhere to the Hospitals core values Excellent level of written and verbal communication skills required Ability to effectively provide health teaching to individuals as required Ability to effectively assume a role as a collaborative member of the health team Valid Class G drivers licence required Good attendance and work record required Ability to work with minimal supervision Must be able to work all scheduled shifts (days, nights, weekends) Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers and visitors Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required.
