Position Registered Nurse Permanent Full Time Job Details Site: Mississauga Hospital Department: 6J Medicine, Inpatient Medicine Program Shift: 12-hour days and night shift rotation, weekends and statutory holidays Job ID: 2026-7231 Job Description The In-Patient Medicine Program at THP consists of more than 350 beds across the CVH and MH and is staffed by interprofessional teams that support the care of complex medicine patients. We provide first-rate care in an innovative environment supporting the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of our patients. Responsibilities Provision of nursing care for patients within an interprofessional environment, including assessment, treatment, teaching and education Teaching and coaching to patients and families Commitment to a healthy, safe and respectful workplace Practicing in compliance with provincial legislation, hospital policies, professional regulatory standards and best practices within the nursing profession Maintaining professional competence by completing regular professional development (including annual training as indicated) Required Qualifications Graduate of a recognized college or school of nursing Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or currently meet the eligibility criteria to register in good standing in the Temporary Class or General Class with the CNO Able to function to the full scope of practice as per CNO Basic Life Support certification If working in an area with telemetry, successful candidates responsible for obtaining formal certification within six months of hire Knowledge, experience and ability to care for patients with IV therapy, medication administration, blood and blood product administration, patient-controlled analgesia, enteral feeds, TPN, transfusion of blood products, central venous access devices, blood glucose monitoring, naso-gastric tubes, wound management skills, routine infection control practices, normal and abnormal blood values, oxygen therapy, tracheostomies, and chest tubes Computer skills including typing, email, and Microsoft Word Satisfactory attendance and performance record required Preferred Qualifications Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred Minimum of two years acute care medical/surgical experience Completion of a physical assessment course Experience with acute care medicine populations, including respirology, nephrology, cardiology patients requiring telemetry monitoring and geriatric patients Experience in providing and delivering patients and families with educational teaching Effective interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem solving skills Patient and family-centered care values Evidence of ongoing professional development Experience and knowledge with Meditech and/or Sunrise Clinical Manager clinical application systems Equal Opportunity & Accessibility Trillium Health Partners is an equal-opportunity employer and values antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
