Project Manager Mechanical Construction (Retrofit) Hamilton Region, Ontario A leading Mechanical Contractor in the Hamilton region is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team. Whats in it for you? - Strong, salarybased compensation - RRSP matching program - 100% employerpaid benefits - 3+ weeks vacation - Industryleading benefits package - Longterm career growth with a highly respected mechanical contractor Key Requirements - Solid knowledge of mechanical piping installations - 5+ years experience as a Mechanical Construction Project Manager (nonresidential), including both field and office/project management - Experience delivering projects as a mechanical subcontractor - Exposure to both designbuild and bidspec projects in institutional and commercial sectors - Strong leadership, planning and organizational abilities - Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to interpret and apply mechanical drawings and specifications - Experience guiding estimators and project coordinators - Excellent communication and relationshipbuilding skills - Advanced scheduling and time management capability - Proven ability to lead and motivate project teams Responsibilities - Lead mechanical scopes from kickoff through closeout on major retrofit projects - Attend site and coordination meetings with general contractors, clients and consultants - Manage mechanical project costs for labour, materials, subcontractors and suppliers - Prepare, price and track change notices and change orders - Track submittals, RFIs, shop drawings and documentation using Jonas - Monitor daily, weekly and monthly labour productivity - Develop, update and manage detailed mechanical project schedules - Ensure installations meet all specifications, codes and quality standards - Coordinate closely with forepersons and site crews to deliver work on time and on budget - Provide afterhours support to site teams when required, including weekend work and crane lifts - Support field staff with drawings, specifications and material selections - Ensure accurate and timely monthly progress billings (by the 20th of each month) - Maintain uptodate project financials and change order logs with Accounting and Contract Administration - Assist Estimating when required - Mentor and develop Coordinators and Assistant Project Managers - Complete and oversee required documentation including site reports, safety forms (COR), inspections and correspondence - Manage project closeout, deficiencies and turnover documentation - Build strong client and general contractor relationships and introduce clients to the Service Department prior to project completion - Procure materials and assets as required - Provide regular project status updates to senior leadership - Support other departments as needed - Always act in the best interest of the company Compensation A very competitive pay scale paired with an exceptional, industryleading benefits package.
