IMMEDIATE INTERIM OPPORTUNITYInterim Chief Executive OfficerReports To: Board of DirectorsDuration: 9 18 monthsLocation: Greater Toronto Area (On-site in Vaughan and Mississauga) Our client, a private equity-owned food manufacturing company, is seeking an Interim CEO to provide leadership during a critical transitional period through a near-term sale of the company (9-18 months).The Interim executive will have accountability for the full operation of the business across all functions and will provide advisory support to PE ownership. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and experienced CPG leader with a history of driving growth, ensuring operational excellence and execution, and leading PE-backed companies through an exit process.Key Accountabilities:Provide oversight to all business functions, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Human Resources, R&D and Quality Assurance.Build and maintain strong relationships with Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.Ensure that all urgent, material items are disclosed to the Board of Directors immediately.Oversee the quality, robustness, and consistency of analysis required for decision-making by the Board of Directors and ownership group.Ensure the leadership team is healthy, functional, and fully aligned.Lead, coach and mentor a strong team of functional leaders in need of better performance metrics and clear goals.Ensure that the organization remains focused on appropriate core business opportunities and business development initiatives.Challenge and push the organization to excel in exceeding business plan deliverables.Elevate the organizations governance obligations by running well-planned board meetings and submitting, in advance, meeting agendas, board meeting plans, analysis/KPIs, and recommendations.Elevate board communication, reporting, analysis and decision-making.Generate and deliver Management Team analysis and recommendations to the Board for all significant decisions and strategic plans that lay out alternative courses of action, assessment of the impact on liquidity, customer relationships, long-term value, and offer clear resolutions for review with timelines and reporting plans.Oversee and support a robust commercial strategy identifying opportunities to drive growth, profitability innovation and market penetration.Oversee transformational capex project to ensure efficient production and delivery of ROI.Oversee the company's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, to achieve GM, EBITDA and revenue targets. Accountable for P&L results.Competencies and Requirements: 15+ years as a leader (including as President/CEO/GM/Country Manager) in the CPG sector with full P&L responsibility, 5+ years of which was spent in the food manufacturing sector specifically.Exposure to private-equity owned businesses and preferably driving organization through a liquidity event.Experience working in smaller entrepreneurial organizations with a willingness to roll up the sleeves and get things done (many hats worn by leadership team).Expertise in both the U.S. and Canadian markets.Committed to execution and delivering on business plan commitments.Solid interpersonal skills, project management and implementation capabilities, excellent written and oral communication skills (including presentation and listening), and strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.Proven experience translating data and metrics to action.Ability to utilize a combination of data and instinct as well as the collective intelligence of the Board and ELT to make effective decisions.Ability to travel (tradeshows, banker meetings, key stakeholder meetings (PE group, customer, other), as needed).PLEASE SEND YOUR CV (AS A WORD DOC) TO: (Subject: Job Title)LHH Knightsbridge Interim Management is a service to help our clients address a wide range of scenarios including leadership support due to sudden departures, driving key change initiatives or leading transformation projects.
