Preszler Injury Lawyers only represents Plaintiffs.Position OverviewWe are seeking a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant with personal injury experience who is interested in transitioning into a role within our Human Resources department. This position is ideal for someone who understands the day-to-day realities of a plaintiff-side personal injury practice and can use that knowledge to help support recruitment, onboarding, training, and offboarding across the firm.The successful candidate will play an important role in helping us identify, onboard, and support legal staff by drawing on their practical understanding of personal injury files, legal support workflows, client service expectations, and the pace of a busy litigation practice. This is a hands-on, hybrid role that will work closely with the HR Manager and support hiring and people processes across the firm.ResponsibilitiesAssist with recruitment for legal and support staff roles, including screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and assessing relevant personal injury experience Support onboarding of new hires, with a focus on helping legal staff integrate into the firm and understand role expectations, workflows, and practice-specific processes Assist with training and orientation for new employees, particularly law clerks, legal assistants, intake staff, and other support roles within the personal injury practice Help identify strong candidates by evaluating practical experience in plaintiff personal injury law, accident benefits, litigation support, and client service Support offboarding processes and transition planning for departing employees Work closely with the HR Manager on interview processes, hiring decisions, and employee support initiatives Assist with internal training coordination, documentation, and process improvement initiatives Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, trackers, and hiring documentation Provide general administrative support to the HR department as needed QualificationsLaw Clerk or Legal Assistant diploma Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a personal injury law firm Strong understanding of plaintiff-side personal injury practice, including legal support roles and workflows Experience with accident benefits, tort litigation, intake, or legal administrative support is strongly preferred Strong judgment and ability to assess candidate fit for legal support roles Excellent communication skills and a professional, service-oriented approach Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities Interest in recruitment, training, onboarding, and employee support Prior HR experience is not required, but a strong interest in transitioning into HR is essential This is a hybrid position, reporting to our Toronto office a minimum of three times per week.
