Job Description

Northwood OE Group, 2401 E Broadway St, Northwood, OH 43619, USA - Provide safe, reliable, ergonomic systems and machines for all supported NSG Plants - Configure systems and database settings for new cells and parts for traceable content. - Program PLCs, barcode readers, HMIs, Robots, and PCs as necessary. - Modify and upgrade existing production equipment as required. - Help develop and maintain costeffective general specifications and standards for machine controls and programming. - Coordinate all project controls/electrical activities to ensure that project timing, quality, and cost targets are attained. - Perform handson programming/debug/troubleshooting of numerous types of automation equipment. - Provide analysis, evaluation, and review of problems regarding automation, advanced methods and equipment, and material handling. - Provide alternative solutions to anticipated or actual technical and/or businessrelated manufacturing problems. - Develop safeguards and improve team member safety through process improvements. - Conduct system/equipment training for plant and other personnel as required. - Provide troubleshooting assistance to production and maintenance team members. - Design new equipment or redesign existing equipment, and coordinate its fabrication, assembly, installation, and startup. - Ensure equipment and layouts are compliant with local and national codes. - Responsible for creating and maintaining all written software program instructions. - Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles - Other duties as assigned by manager Top 3 Competencies Needed for Success in the Role - Influential Builds rapport and makes a positive and credible impact - Customer Focused Actively seeks to understand internal and external customer needs and ensures solutions, practices and procedures are designed to assure customer satisfaction - Passion for Excellence Takes personal responsibility and ownership for achieving results and objectives Qualifications Required - B.S. in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience - Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience. - Willing to travel up to 30%. Note: 90% of the travel will be within 5 hours of Toledo - Proficiency in PLC programming, robotics, machine vision and CAD. - Problemsolving abilities; experience programming ABB or Fanuc robotics; strong PLC/HMI programming skills; power, motors & controls knowledge. - Strong computer and network skills and process expertise. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Open and frank, keen to see things through to completion. - Dynamic individual who leads by example. - Flexible, understands there is more than one way to accomplish a goal. - Must be able to work as part of a team and have the determination to succeed in a challenging environment. - Must be a selfstarter and be able to work toward project objectives with minimal supervision. Qualifications Desired - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Servo system knowledge and proficiency - Vision system knowledge and proficiency - Must be able to travel, with overnight stays if required. - Must be available to supervise installations, if needed.
