Job Description

At this position level: The Facility Mechanic / Electrician is tasked with installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining facility equipment and building systems in accordance with safety, preventive and productive maintenance processes to support the achievement of the sites business goals and objectives. The role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services on mechanical and electrical equipment, and ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements, including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection. Key Duties & Responsibilities Perform work in accordance with established processes and practices. Comply with all internal and external requirements. Conduct regular monitoring, inspection, preventive and corrective maintenance to achieve facility uptime goals. Observe and report condition deficiencies and suggest enhancements. Monitor facilities through walkthroughs and equipment inspections. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and complex electrical building systems. Respond to routine and ondemand service requests. Record resolution data and ensure work meets quality and contractual requirements. Track, monitor, and report maintenance status; initiate approvals as necessary. Assist with preventive maintenance program implementation and documentation. Participate in facilityrelated projects. Ensure work complies with corporate, legislative, environmental, health, safety, and fire protection policies. Maintain all assigned tools and arrange for repair or replacement. Submit all expenditures promptly. Work Requirements 35 years of facility operations and maintenance experience. High school diploma plus trades training or certificate; electrician license required. Strong adherence to processes and practices for facility maintenance. Advanced troubleshooting and resolution skills for building mechanical and electrical systems. Knowledge of fire, life safety, and building codes; ability to research and apply them. Strong environmental, health, and safety mindset. Clientservice orientation with a high sense of urgency. Effective communication skills for data relay and clarification. Subject to Collective Agreement between BGIS and CUPE Local 1391. Working Conditions Must be able and willing to work 12hour rotating shifts and respond to shift replacements and emergency callouts.
