Job Title Planning Analyst Job Details Rate of Pay: $28.47 - $37.96 per hour Hours of Work per Week: 40 hours Shift Work Required: No Duties and Responsibilities Reporting to the Manager, Transit Planning; responsible for direct assistance in all transit planning functions including route and schedule development, ridership studies, service efficiency analysis, computerized database creation and utilization, assistance with the bus stop and shelter program, and coordination of information input into the Scheduling Software, Farebox and ITS systems. Creation and maintenance of maps related to ridership analysis, on-street service and detours through ESRI/ArcGIS software. Maintenance of a geocoded database for bus stops, IVR, ITS, Farebox, GTFS. Collaboration in runcutting, service cost analysis and budget variance. Liaison with City Departments regarding site plan control, street and alley committee, subdivision plans, zoning/land use planning, and major road construction projects. Coordination with Transit Operations/Transportation Department regarding transfer connections, traffic priority measures, vehicle requirements, onstreet activity, and surveys; assistance in budget reports and generation of statistical information. Performance of Occupational Health and Safety duties as outlined in the Corporations Health and Safety Program. Other related duties as required. Qualifications Postsecondary diploma or degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies, Transportation Engineering Technology, or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a related field. Minimum of one (1) year of experience with ESRI/ArcGIS software. Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office suite and ability to multitask. Statistical analysis and analytical/problemsolving capabilities. Bondable. Current, valid Class G drivers licence and provider of a drivers abstract as a condition of employment. Experience in transit planning, exposure to municipal government administration, and experience in survey administration are considered assets.
