Job Description

CAD Technologist/Civil Designer - Mining or Water Job Overview We are seeking a CAD Technologist to support surface water and tailings management projects across the country. In this role, you will help our team guide clients through the full project cyclefrom permitting and concept design to constructionby transforming ideas into comprehensive, compliant designs. Your Key Responsibilities Use drafting tools to complete 2D and 3D model development, design changes, general arrangement drawings, redlining, plotting, and drafting using our CAD/BIM platforms. Collaborate closely with engineers and senior designers on assigned projects. Support Project Managers by preparing submittals for clients, governmental agencies, permitting agencies, and other stakeholders for reviews, approvals, and milestones. Perform thorough QA/QC of models and sheet files for standards compliance, discipline coordination, and confirmation that comments have been addressed. Execute additional duties of similar nature and level as assigned. Experience with Muck 3D is an asset. Your Capabilities and Credentials Ability to collaborate on large, complex projects. Strong problemsolving skills, using professional judgment, creativity, and innovation. Working knowledge of Autodesk and Bentley products, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Basic engineering calculations knowledge. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and flexibility in prioritizing tasks. Experience importing and processing survey and drone data is an asset. Qualifications Diploma or certificate in a related program plus a minimum of 5+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Typical office-based work with long periods of computer use; occasional field work may involve exposure to weather.
