Our Edmonton office has an opportunity for an Engineering Student within our Community Development Group. Our Community Development group provides services within the City of Edmonton and surrounding region. We work on a wide variety of private sector projects that include residential, industrial, and commercial developments. This posting is for one (1) Engineering Student position for a duration of four (4) months, that will commence in May 2026. Your Key Responsibilities Provide general engineering support to the Community Developments project management team. Contribute with other land development engineers (EITs) and technologists from our design and field teams on the design and delivery of land development project for our clients. Assist the project management team on a variety of projects with work that could include the following tasks: assisting with quantity take-offs and production of tender documents for site grading and site servicing including water distribution, sanitary sewers, storm water management and roadways. Assist with preparing earthwork calculations using Civil 3D software. Prepare drawings and figures as required using AutoCad software to support the team. Communicate with team members from our planning and landscape architecture groups. Contribute to project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, clients, and other various project stakeholders, as required. Willingness to work in a challenging and fast paced work environment. Support field activities such as surveying, acting as an on-site observer for construction projects, and establishing constructed quantities. Other supportive responsibilities. Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials The candidate will be highly motivated, willing to work in both an individual and team-oriented environment, and ready to participate in a wide variety of projects. Previous field employment experience is an asset, but not necessarily a requirement. Strong organizational skills and understanding how to prioritize. Strong written and oral communication skills. Knowledge and experience of construction projects. Creative problem solving and analytical skills. Must work well in a team environment and have a collaborative approach. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, and BlueBeam. A working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is an asset. A valid drivers license is an asset. Education and Experience Currently enrolled in an Engineering program with availability for a 4month internship. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
