Your responsibilities on OPS will include endoscopy related procedures (colonoscopy, gastroscopy, ERCP and bronchoscopy), urologic surgical procedures (TURP, laser stone extraction, cystoscopy) and minor surgical procedures from the urologic, plastic and ear/nose/throat specialities. You will be actively participating in patient safety and patient advocacy throughout the care experience while working in an interprofessional team environment. What You Bring To The Role RN with undergraduate nursing degree Certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse Post graduate Certificate in Operating Room Nursing preferred Current BCLS certification Minimum of 2 years working in Endoscopy related procedure environment preferred Demonstrated knowledge of the OPANA standards is an asset Membership with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) Ability to work both independently and as part of an interprofessional care team member Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster positive working relationships with interprofessional team members Familiar with professional and hospital standards, guidelines and procedures Excellent problem-solving skills, negotiation and conflict resolution skills Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize Proficient computer skills Evidence of professional development, continuing education and leadership experience is required Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organization related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required Work Schedule The successful candidate must be available to work Monday - Friday, Days. Shifts include 4, 6, 8 and 10 hour blocks, including but not limited to: 0700h - 1700h, 0730h - 1530h, 0800h - 1600h, 0830h 1630h, 0900h 1700h, 0700h 1100h, 0800h - 1200h and 1200h - 1600h.
