The Electrical Assembly Technician will be part of the electrical engineering and design team. They will troubleshoot new and existing electrical systems and interface with customers, vendors, production, and service teams. Employees are expected to respect established processes and procedures, while our client values the contributions and improvements employees can offer within that framework.Location: Red DeerReports to:Supervisor & Sr. Lead Hand Electrical DepartmentExternal Contacts:Equipment Vendors, Chassis Vendors, CustomersKey Responsibility Areas:Electrical SupportAssist with troubleshooting, calibrating, installation, and repair of electrical systems on the production floor and in the service department.Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure electrical installations meet our clients quality standards.Engage with the Pre-Delivery Inspection team to correct post-test deficiencies.Interact with manufacturing and service teams to provide mentorship and guidance on correct assembly of truck electrical components.Show leadership in accurate and complete testing of post-chassis electrical installations.Provide requested electrical documentation and procedures to team members in a timely manner.Respond to support requests as communicated through the electrical ticketing system.Advise on defective components and engage with the QA team.Perform bench testing of components.Participate in daily production update checks.System Software and ConfigurationsConfigure chassis engine and transmission parameters using appropriate documentation.Correctly load and configure our clients proprietary software on different hydrovac models.Configure third-party devices to specified settings.Assist in full system integration software validations.Assist in troubleshooting chassis check engine lights and fault codes.Meticulously update, track, and document all changes and configurations.Electrical Drawings, Documentation, and Publishing for ProductionPublish electrical design documents for products.Apply revision changes to CAD drawings as requested.Generate component-specific interface drawings for custom implementations.Identify appropriate part numbers and apply them to drawing revisions and document changes.Create or revise guides, procedures, manuals, and specifications.Maintain accurate revision control on all engineering documentation.Projects / Other AssignmentsWork on related projects or initiatives as assigned.QualificationsEducation / CertificationEngineering Technologist Diploma, Engineering Degree, or equivalent.CET designation is preferred.ExperienceExperience with or a genuine interest in heavy-duty industrial equipment and/or manufacturing.Hands-on experience with assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and components, including use of relevant tools and test equipment.Related mechanical knowledge and tool skills are considered an asset.Design and drawing experience using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar CAD programs.
