The organization is under the direction of a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of people who receive support, family members and other members of the community.In 2024, Community Living Central York was the recipient of the Not-For-Profit of the year at the Central York Chamber of Commerce Business Award, Community Leadership Award and the (ODEN) Disability Employment Service Award for Outstanding Employment Service Provider.SUMMARY STATEMENT:To support people who have an intellectual disability to achieve their personal goals and facilitate relationships, skills and roles which promote peoples effective participation in the typical and valued life of the communityPOSITION: SUPPORT WORKERPART TIME POSITIONREPORTING TO: Community Living Supports ManagerHOURS: Part Time Hours - Days, Evenings, Overnights, Weekends and HolidaysHOURLY RATE: $19.10 - $23.49QUALIFICATIONS:DSW or equivalent, preferably with a minimum of two years experience working with people who have an intellectual disabilityAbility to support behavioral needs and protocolsAbility to support complex medical needs i.e. G-tube and tracheotomy carePrevious experience supporting people who have mental health issues and dealing with high anxiety situationsSolid understanding of the principals of CPI and experience with verbal de-escalationAbility to work independently and as a team memberStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsCurrent First Aid, CPR and Non-violent Crisis Intervention certificatesValid G drivers license, insurance and reliable vehicleCurrent Vulnerable Sector Screening (within 6 months)Community Living Central York is an equal opportunity employer which welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities. #J-18808-Ljbffr
