Position Overview The Asset Protection Specialist Supervisor (APSS) is responsible for preventing financial loss caused by property vandalism, traditional theft, and fraud, organized retail crime, and connected retail fraud. They assist the District Asset Protection Manager with internal investigations, AP walks, and central investigations on highlevel organized crime. The APSS must remain focused on AP and district business objectives as outlined by the DAPM, and keep store leadership and district teams informed of criminal activity within their assigned district. Key Responsibilities Analyze district shrink performance to identify trends in traditional theft, fraud, organized retail crime, and connected fraud. Accountable for district apprehension performance. Monitor and identify associate behaviors and operational issues through exceptionbased reporting and CCTV that may cause shrink or other profit erosion. Execute AP rollouts within the district (e.g., camera installations, merchandise protection updates). Perform quarterly store walks. Maintain physical security requirements of stores. Support the identification and investigation of internal dishonest activity. Coordinate investigations identified as organized retail crime with the Central Investigator. Prepare detailed reports for police, HR, and others upon request. Monitor criminal cases, appear in court, and testify as warranted. Support stores and recommend solutions to improve associate engagement. Manage Asset Protection Specialist performance; provide timely feedback and complete quarterly performance discussions. Teach and train associates to drive change and execute process improvements. Travel Requirements Ability to travel (including occasional overnights) 10%20% of the time. Physical Requirements May involve bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving merchandise and tools, climbing a ladder. Extended periods of standing and walking throughout the store locations. May involve quickly responding to public address system announcements, including customer service calls, pages, and general information. Moving around the store and being able to communicate with and assist associates & customers. Operating a computer and other technology. Working Conditions Flexible schedule that may include evening and weekends. Warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy. Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes. Minimum Education High school Diploma and/or GED. Minimum Years of Work Experience Minimum 1 year Loss/Asset Prevention experience. Minimum Leadership Experience 2 years of customer service experience (an asset). Certifications Where applicable, security guard license and/or private investigator license is required. Other Requirements / Assets Must have access to a vehicle. May be required to travel to various stores in the market area. Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Working knowledge of CCTV systems an asset.
