Canada.POSITION SUMMARY:As a Manufacturing Estimator - Fabrication & Machining, you are responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for manufacturing projects ranging from $50,000 to $10M+. This role works cross-functionally with production, sales, and operations to evaluate project requirements, develop pricing strategies, and support business development efforts. The Estimator also serves as a key point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:Main Responsibilities:Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, and subcontractingInterpret customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirementsDevelop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing cost modelsCollaborate with shop, production, and quality teams to validate estimatesAssess feasibility based on company capabilities and capacitySupport risk analysis and baseline costing for project planningLiaise with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricingCoordinate with sales to develop competitive bids and manage pipeline activityMaintain client communication and support scope definitionUtilize ERP/CRM systems for estimating, quoting, and trackingContribute to pricing strategies and continuous improvement of estimating processesProvide technical input and cost-effective solutions to internal and external stakeholdersPerform other duties as assignedPERSONAL SUITABILITY:Technical Experience:Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related discipline35 years of estimating experience in metal machining and fabricationHands-on shop experience (machining, welding, fitting) is an assetExperience with ERP systems (e.g., Infor Visual, JobBoss, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage)Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Outlook, Power BI, PowerPoint)Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and welding/machining symbolsFamiliarity with North American manufacturing standardsExperience developing DXFs and improving cost models is an assetStrong analytical, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environmentProfessional designations (EIT, P.Eng., PMP) are considered assetsSecond language is an assetWe will provide you with a competitive compensation and benefits package as well as an excellent opportunity to learn and grow in this dynamic environment.
