Urban Legal Recruitment is pleased to partner with our highly regarded client, a leading regional law firm, in the recruitment of an Intellectual Property & Technology Associate to join their Calgary office.This role is well suited for a lawyer who enjoys a broad, integrated practice, combining intellectual property, technology and corporate commercial work across a wide range of industries and clients.The ideal candidate will possess the following:48 years of experience in intellectual property, technology, and corporate commercial law within a team-based environment from a national, regional or reputable boutique.Experience with drafting, reviewing, and advising on a variety of technical and commercial agreements, including IP licensing agreements, Saas agreements, distribution agreements and master service agreementsDrafting, reviewing, and negotiating joint ownership, development, commercialization, and M&A agreements across a variety of industries, with clients ranging from SMEs to larger public companiesDemonstrated experience advising on privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, or AI-related matters is considered an assetExperience working with start-ups, emerging companies, and larger corporate clientsA strong understanding of the Canadian intellectual property legal framework, including practice and procedure before the Canadian Intellectual Property OfficeThe ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal adviceStrong drafting, organizational, and interpersonal skillsTrademark agent designation considered an assetMembership in good standing with the Law Society of AlbertaOur client is offering the following:Lockstep base salaryHighly competitive bonus programComprehensive health and wellness benefitsEducational incentives and ongoing professional developmentMeaningful opportunities for training, mentorship, and career advancementReduced billable targetA relocation package, where applicableInterested and qualified applicants are encouraged to apply in confidence by submitting their resume and transcripts to At Urban Legal Recruitment, we ensure complete discretion and confidentiality.
