This work directly supports safer, more sustainable local infrastructureimproving how residents move, connect, and access essential services. In this role, you will join our team as a Construction Inspector, a trusted onsite representative helping ensure quality, compliance, and safe delivery across multiple municipal construction projects. This is a temporary position for approximately 4 months in Cape Breton, NS Your Impact Youll be conducting site inspection for municipal construction projects, including storm and sanitary sewers, water distribution, and roadwaysidentifying and advising of noncompliance. Youll be reviewing and interpreting contract documents and contract drawings. Youll coordinate and monitor the material testing/quality control program completed by others. Youll keep field diaries, records of work completed, and materials and equipment on site each day. Youll monitor environmental compliance. Youll work closely with the Contract Administrator to provide observations, records and data as required for contract administration. Youll be tracking and summarizing quantities, and reviewing, preparing and recommending approval of payment certificates. Youll liaise with the design engineer and clients for approval of onsite changes. Youll liaise with the public and other stakeholders. Youll ensure compliance with WSPs projectspecific Health and Safety Plan. The Skills That Set You Apart 3+ years of experience as a Construction Inspector on municipal infrastructure projects. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build constructive onsite relationships. Preferably, solid knowledge of the Department of Transportation & Infrastructure Municipal Water, Sewer and Roads Master Construction Specifications. A valid drivers licence and a clean Drivers Abstract.
