Role Overview We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to help build and sustain high-quality software through strong test design, automation, and collaboration with engineering partners. This is a handson, deliveryfocused role for someone who understands modern quality practices and wants to continue developing technical depth, product judgment, and influence. It is very important to be comfortable building with agentassisted and agentic workflows. You will work closely with Engineers, Product Managers, and Senior Quality Leaders to ensure quality is built in early and continuously, not added at the end. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable owning quality for features or services, contributes meaningfully to automation and CI/CD flows, and is ready to grow toward more senior technical leadership. What Youll Do Quality Execution & Ownership Own quality for assigned features, services, or components. Design and execute risk-based test approaches aligned to product intent. Identify gaps in coverage and propose practical improvements. Participate actively in story refinement, design discussions, and planning. Test Automation & Tooling Build and maintain automated tests across API, UI, and integration layers. Contribute to existing test frameworks and tooling. Write clear, maintainable, production-quality test code. Help ensure automation is reliable, meaningful, and provides fast feedback. CI/CD & Developer Workflows Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines to provide timely quality signals. Monitor pipeline health, test failures, and flakiness. Collaborate with engineers to keep pipelines fast and trustworthy. Learn and apply evolving approaches, including agent-assisted or agentic workflows , where appropriate. Collaboration & Quality Advocacy Partner with software engineers to improve testability and design. Raise quality risks early with context and evidence. Participate in rootcause analysis and defect prevention discussions. Learn when to push backand when to accept tradeoffs. Growth & Continuous Improvement Learn from senior QEs and technical leaders through reviews and mentoring. Reflect on what works (and doesnt) in testing and quality practices. Gradually take on more complex problems and ownership as skills grow. What Were Looking For Experience 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Test Engineering, or Software Engineering. Experience supporting quality for production software systems. Experience working on a crossfunctional product or delivery team. Technical Skills Solid foundation in test automation (API and UI preferred). Ability to read, understand, and write productionlevel code. Familiarity with CI/CD systems and modern development workflows. Experience with AIassisted or agentic testing workflows. Nice to Have Exposure to contract testing, performance testing, or reliability testing. Familiarity with developer tooling or platform teams. Experience with Jenkins, Grafana, playwright and Linux. Experience with writing C#. Compensation & Benefits $90,000 $140,000 (CAD) a year (Salary range min max).
