The Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Associate Manager plays a critical, handson role in advancing SHE excellence across two SC Johnson Professional manufacturing sites in the Brantford region operating under a shared leadership model. This onsite leader partners closely with plant leadership, operations, engineering, and frontline supervisors to turn SHE standards and regulatory requirements into practical, consistent execution that protects people, the environment, and the business. With a strong presence on the plant floor, the SHE Associate Manager drives regulatory compliance, reduces operational risk, and strengthens a proactive safety culture across both sites. This role provides direct technical expertise and executionfocused support for sitespecific SHE programs, ensuring they are not only implemented, but embedded into daily operations and sustained over time. Success in this role comes from building trusted partnerships at all levels of the organizationcoaching leaders and empowering frontline SHE champions to take ownership, increase accountability, and continuously improve safety, health, and environmental performance across the Brantford operations. Key Responsibilities Executes SHE compliance assurance processes (e.g., compliance calendars, leader standard work) to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, permits, and SC Johnson standards. Collects, analyzes, and interprets SHE performance data to support compliance and identify opportunities to reduce operational and process safety risk. Conducts internal SHE audits and verifications, including GEMBA walks and behavioral observations, to proactively identify hazards and nonconformances. Partners with site leadership and functional teams to drive timely and effective closure of SHE corrective and preventive actions. Collaborates with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance for SHEcritical equipment and highhazard processes are executed and documented. Provides handson SHE technical support during regulatory inspections and interactions with enforcement agencies. Leads and supports SHE incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented effectively. Deploys and maintains site SHE training programs, ensuring required training is defined, relevant, and completed as required. Participates in Management of Change (MOC) reviews to evaluate and control safety, health, and environmental risks associated with operational changes. Supports site injury reduction initiatives and employeedriven safety programs by coaching leaders and frontline teams. Required Experience Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. 5+ years of relevant safety, health and environmental (SHE/EHS) experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably with handson program implementation and compliance responsibility at the plant level. Preferred Experiences and Skills Proven ability to engage SHE champions, empowering them to take daytoday ownership of safety and environmental processes. Designation as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or country equivalent. Experience leading teams/managing others. Effective communication skills that permit the clear and concise transfer of information to stakeholders. Project management experience to enable prioritization and management of multiple projects to completion. Job Requirements Fulltime core office hours with expectation to be available for occasional nights/weekends. Up to 10% domestic travel may be required. This position is not eligible for relocation assistance. Work in an office environment will be approximately 50% of time. Work in a manufacturing environment will be approximately 50% of time. The expected base salary range for this position is between 99,539.00 CAD 130,645.00 CAD. Job related skills, experience, education, and location will be considered in setting the actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a shortterm incentive and/or longterm incentives.
