Job Title

Position: Academic Coordinator, History Faculty: Athabasca University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The position is parttime (0.2 FTE) and is a term appointment ending December 30, 2026. Responsibilities Oversee the teaching, administration and maintenance of Athabasca Universitys History courses. Supervise and monitor the performance of course tutors (who teach and mark student assignments). Handle student issues brought forward by students, tutors or the institution (e.g., grade appeals, course credit challenges, academic misconduct cases, transfer credit requests). Provide service to the Centre for Humanities, including attending meetings held by the Centre and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Qualifications Expertise in Canadian History 1867 to present. Minimum of a Master''s degree in History (PhD preferred). Experience in distance and online learning and familiarity with digital teaching technologies. Preferred assets include additional experience with online course development and assessment.
