Job Call Social Media Coordinator (Summer 2026) This role will support the social media needs for summer programming at the centre, particularly supporting programming for Queer and Racialized youth. This includes creating social media content plans and communications materials like blogs, design assets, and graphics for creative content at the centre, especially concerning the centres accessible programming such as workshops and free events. The candidate will be involved in developing social media and communications assets that will live on the centres social media channels, website and promotional screens. The Social Media Coordinator will also assist with documenting activities for the Video Camp for Youth+, as well as support other social media content creation highlighting the centres diverse membership and programming such as DARCs artists in residence and media art production fund recipients. Please note that the Social Media Coordinator will be scheduled for our onsite annual garage sale, taking place Saturday, July 11, 2026. QUALIFICATIONS 1+ years of experience working in a social media, communications and/or marketing capacity; Organized, detailoriented and capable of working independently and collaboratively; Strong interpersonal communication skills; takes initiative and direction well; works effectively in a team; Familiar with media art, video, and audio production equipment an asset; Familiarity with navigating Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn is a strong asset; Student or graduate of social media, communications, design or marketing is a strong asset; Familiar with basic social media, comms and digital video editing materials like Canva, Zeffy, Mailerlite and other outreach resources; Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and Davinci Resolve is considered a strong asset; Familiarity with office project management applications (e.g. Google Suite, Asana) and macOS a strong asset; Ability to speak French or a second language is considered a strong asset. COMPENSATION Canada Summer Jobs Contract : 8 weeks Term Contract, 35 hours per week for a maximum of 280 hours Rate of Pay : $20.00 per hour + 4% vacation pay Expected start date : July 6, 2026 Benefits : Comped DARC workshops, facilities and equipment during employment contract The Social Media Coordinator will fulfill all of their duties onsite at DARCs facilities at Arts Court (67 Nicholas St. / 2 Daly Ave. near the Rideau and uOttawa LRT). There is no parking on site. Occasional after hours, weekend and offsite attendance will be scheduled as necessary for programming events.
