Physician Assistant/ Clinical Assistant - Primary Care - 20047346 - (2052) Location: Access Fort Garry - Winnipeg, MB CA (Primary) Description The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a motivated Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant for a parttime position in Primary Care at the Access Fort Garry in Winnipeg, MB. Responsibilities The Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant will be required to perform, order, and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic investigations/interventions. Duties of this position can/will include performing history and physical exams in a variety of settings that could include the Emergency Department, wards, and other clinical settings, as well as following patients in the pre/peri/postoperative ward. Physician Assistants/Clinical Assistants will also attend clinical and educational rounds. Administrative requirements include standard of practice recordings of all patient encounters, which may require dictating or utilizing electronic medical records where available. Assistants must be able to communicate effectively in English with other members of interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Note This is NOT a Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant position. Salary and Benefits Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and is accompanied by a benefits package. Qualifications Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba as a Physician Assistant or Clinical Assistant. Must be eligible for a Medical Staff Appointment. Prior experience preferred. Candidates must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Educational Program acceptable to CPSM. Clinical Assistant Candidates Must be a graduate of an accredited medical school in Canada or abroad. Must have at least one of the following: Clinical Assistant Assessment NAC OSCE LMCC Legal and Compliance This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse and Child Abuse Registry Checks. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
