The payroll team at GWL plays a critical role in delivering complex payroll and benefits operations for both the corporate centre and our operating businesses, including Loblaw, Choice Properties and Wittington. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Executive Compensation and Payroll, the Senior Payroll Analyst ensures the accurate and timely administration of payroll and benefits across a multientity organization. Youll own endtoend payroll processing, maintain precise payroll and benefits records, prepare journal entries, and manage statutory remittances. You will also support yearend payroll and benefits reporting, coordinate with thirdparty providers, and partner closely with HR and Finance. This role is ideal for a detailoriented professional who thrives in a complex environment and is committed to delivering high standards of payroll and benefits operations. Responsibilities Lead the endtoend semimonthly payroll for executives, directors/trustees, and salaried/hourly colleagues, including bonus and special payments Maintain and reconcile equity transactions (Stock Options/RSUs) and other payroll inputs (hours, retro adjustments, statutory/voluntary deductions) in Workday Prepare payroll reporting, journal entries, GL reconciliations, and account/statutory remittance reconciliations (CRA, Revenu Qubec, EHT, WSIB) Support yearend tax reporting (T4/T4A/NR4/Relev 1) and reconcile thirdparty compensation in the payroll system Ensure compliance and audit readiness; act as payroll SME and resolve complex and confidential inquiries Collaborate with Human Resources and Finance Departments to ensure alignment on payrollrelated matters Identify and contribute to process improvements and payroll projects, including supporting Workday/Dayforce configuration and integrations Perform backup duties for other members of Payroll team Qualifications Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is required; PLP is an asset Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Accounting, Human Resources, etc.) 5+ years previous fullcycle payroll experience with both salary and hourly payrolls Proficient with HRIS systems (Workday and Ceridian Dayforce preferred) and Excel Multi-provincial (including Quebec) experience is an asset Personal Attributes Strong and articulate communicator (both verbal and written), comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization Exceptional collaboration and relationship skills, ability to work with multiple stakeholders Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask Detail oriented with mathematical/statistical/analytical ability Selfmotivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Whats In It For You? A candidates experience and knowledge as well as the geographical region in which the position is located may be factored into the pay a candidate receives for this position.
