Job Description Wabtec Foundry, in Wallaceburg, Ontario, is a business unit within Wabtec Corporations Components Division. Founded in the 1930s, the Foundry produces iron and aluminum products to support Wabtecs rail industry components and various industrial markets. Who will you be working with? The Tooling and Process Manager reports directly to the General Manager and serves as the technical lead for our iron/aluminum foundry operations. You will work closely with production leadership and team members to manage the lifecycle of foundry tooling and optimize casting processes to improve yield, reduce scrap, and meet customer quality expectations. How will you make a difference? Uphold priorities of safety, quality, continuous improvement, teamwork, and leadership. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to achieve tangible results and support operating budget goals. Drive significant improvements in production efficiencies, customer satisfaction, ontime delivery, cost, and safety. Communicate and collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, and other departments. What do we want to know about you? Minimum 10 years of experience in tooling/pattern/mold design with CAD software and 2D print reading. Strong leadership and proven ability in metal casting industry. Excellent organizational, problemsolving, and process improvement skills. Postsecondary education in CAD/CAM design, engineering, or a related technical field. Effective communication skills with management, customers, and production teams. Computer application skills, including Microsoft Office, CAD, and learning new software; experience with MagmaSoft is an asset. Excellent oral and written communication abilities. Ability to work with crossfunctional teams on related assignments. What will your typical day look like? Manage the pattern shop: design, procurement, and maintenance of patterns, core boxes, and fixtures. Oversee budgets and timelines for new tooling and tooling repair, coordinate with vendors and internal resources. Develop and refine casting procedures, including melting, molding, and pouring, and design gating systems to reduce defects. Lead Kaizen events and scrap reduction meetings to identify and implement improvements. Provide technical support to Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams. Use MagmaSoft simulation modeling to analyze process data and troubleshoot defects. Support new product introduction: quote estimates, start up patterns, and ensure compliance with customer requirements. Coordinate with maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and performance. Enforce health and safety protocols per Wabtec EHS policies. Work Conditions The successful candidate will work onsite, 40hour onsite week (8hour days). Wabtec requires legal authorization to work in Canada and a successful background check. Compensation Salary range: $83,300 to $110,400, based on experience, skills, and market factors.
