Job Description

The role of an Sr. Account Manager is to provide on-time, on-budget delivery of clients communications requirements; maintain positive client relationships; and sustain and grow Triggers profitability. Sr. Account Managers have direct responsibility for a portfolio of clients, and also work with Partner/Client Service Director on other clients who necessitate such involvement. Sr. Account Managers report to the Partner/Client Service and given the circumstance the other Partners of the agency. Responsibilities Client Project Management Manage the day-to-day operations of all client project assignments: Development of creative briefs. Prepare and obtain internal/client approvals on budget estimates. Ensure project scope is well articulated and understood by clients and Trigger resources. Build and maintain project schedules. Brief projects to team members; provide samples, research findings, etc. as necessary for effective briefings. Oversee ongoing progress of all projects. Troubleshoot project delays or changing specifications to ensure deliverables (costs and timing) are achieved as planned, or adjusted as parameters change. Generate meeting agendas, take meeting notes and create contact/status reports. Work with all Trigger approved partners (media, production, digital development, research, etc.) Schedule internal pass-off meetings and internal reviews. Ensure materials are reviewed by appropriate teams (through production to creative) and client approved. Lead project debriefings, sharing learnings to eradicate future issues. Maintain client records (such as creative folders, competitive info, general account management records). Be an expert on all clients within your portfolio, including news, information and research; ensure key information is shared with team members. Follow, understand and derive implications from key trends affecting our clients, audiences and industry know whats new and what to ignore. Manage client relationships Build and maintain positive client relationships: regular contact through project lifespan, proactive communication on budget issues and timing delays; effective presentations, management of expectations, etc. Learn each clients working style and assist the Trigger team to adapt. Help lead and Account Coordinators Oversee day-to-day workload of account coordinators on direct team. Provide mentorship; assist in problem-solving; provide regular feedback to help develop the professional skills necessary to meet the needs of Trigger and clients; assist in reaching personal goals. Client Budget Control and Trigger Revenue Responsibilities Responsible for helping to set, monitor and achieve overall revenue goals for clients within your assigned portfolio. Deliver monthly revenue forecasts. Review and approval of monthly client invoicing. Preparation of monthly budget control reports with support of your direct team and accounting, for internal review and as appropriate, client submission. Proactively identifying project out-of-scope challenges before overages are incurred. Work in Tandem with the Strategic Planning (when required) Contribute to Scope of Work documents where specific project details, schedules and budgets are required. Bring in Strategic Partners as necessary to work with the clients within your assigned portfolio. Organizational Duties Organize projects and the resources on each project. Proactively alert the Partners when a project is in danger of exceeding agreed scope. Identify and develop opportunities for Trigger case studies. Participate in providing content for Triggers social media channels. New Business / Client Retention Provide leads to the new business team when possible, and assist the lead. Assist with new business activities, including content creation, meeting participation, etc. Build organic growth of existing clients: identify supplementary activities; develop and implement strategies to advance the initiative. Measures of Success In addition to evaluation of responsibilities as outlined above, measures will also include: Effective use of interpersonal skills. Identification of goals that are measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound, as well as progress towards them.
