The Partner Merchant Interfaces Integration team within Decisions Foundations is growing and we are looking for a Software Engineer II with a track record of leading projects and initiatives on the Partner Merchant Interfaces Team. You will be part of a fastpaced team responsible for the APIs that Partners and Merchants use to integrate with Affim, and also power some of our top partners like Amazon and Stripe. What You''ll Do With the support of your teams tech lead and manager, break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery of your work. Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design and analytics, participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that properly consider risks and tradeoffs. Support the operations and availability of your teams artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting keep the lights on & oncall efforts. Contribute to a sense of community on your team by engaging in growth and development activities such as participation in the interview process. What We Look For 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer. Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems and proficiency in either Python or Kotlin. Familiarity with the building blocks of distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes. Experience designing, developing and launching APIs at scale using Python or Kotlin. Mastery of turning a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple software components, and execution by writing clear, welltested and extensible code. Comfort navigating a large codebase, debugging others code, and providing feedback through code reviews. Proactive ownership of growth, proactively seeking feedback from team, manager and stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills supporting effective collaboration with the global engineering team. Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelors degree in a related field. Pay Grade L Equity Grade 5 Base pay range per year: $125,000 $175,000. Affirm is a remotefirst company; the majority of roles are remote across the U.S., with occasional office requirements.
