Location: Brampton, ON Department: Accounting / Finance Reports to: Controller Salary Range: $120,000 $125,000 CAD + 10% Bonus Job Type: Full-time Work Model: Hybrid (3 days/week onsite) About the job The client is a well-established and growing organization seeking a Manager, Accounting to lead key accounting operations and support the finance function. The company operates in a dynamic environment and is looking for a strong accounting leader who can oversee the close process, manage a team, and ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This role reports directly to the Controller and manages a team of 45 accounting professionals, while supporting ongoing process improvements and operational efficiencies across the finance function. What you will achieve in this role Lead the monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation prepared by accounting staff Analyze balance sheet accounts and resolve reconciling items while identifying root causes of discrepancies Manage workflow across the accounting team to ensure deadlines and reporting requirements are consistently met Oversee key accounting activities including reconciliations, accrual calculations, cost allocations, and account analysis Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests Maintain relationships with third parties including banks, government agencies, and insurance providers Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting standards Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and enhance efficiency within the finance function Participate in ERP and system-related initiatives including evaluation, testing, and implementation of upgrades Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 45 accounting professionals Support hiring, performance management, and professional development of accounting staff What you must bring to this role Bachelors degree in Accounting or related discipline CPA designation strongly preferred 510 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or industry experience welcome) Strong knowledge and handson experience working with U.S. GAAP Demonstrated ability to manage or mentor accounting staff Experience working with $100M+ revenue organizations considered an asset Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to present findings to leadership Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality financial reporting Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment Experience in the hospitality industry considered an asset Working Conditions Hybrid work model with three days per week onsite in Brampton Office-based environment with frequent collaboration across finance and operational teams Fast-paced accounting environment with monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines Additional Information AI screening may be required as part of the onboarding process This posting is intended to fill an existing vacancy Bonus consideration may be provided for candidates with Oracle ERP experience and/or hospitality industry experience How to Apply If you are an experienced accounting professional seeking a leadership opportunity within a growing organization, please submit your resume outlining your qualifications and relevant experience.
