Description You are a Project Manager responsible for the smooth functioning of daytoday operations to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. In this role, you will help estimate new and upcoming projects, develop strategies for the execution of large and complex powerline construction projects, coordinate resources to meet operational objectives, implement the project plan and schedule, ensure safety and quality control, and delegate work to the project team, subcontractors, and others. Responsibilities Demonstrate leadership in health, safety and environmental protection on the project; apply the requirements of the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) and Ledcor HS&E standards, applicable OH&S Acts, regulations and codes. Lead all aspects of subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement and negotiations for complex and designbuild projects. Take ownership of pursuit estimates, review and verify direct and indirect costs, and assign and manage bid package responsibilities. Perform quantity takeoffs for large, complex bids and oversee the takeoff process, including review of takeoff summaries. Develop and maintain the construction schedule in conjunction with the project team to meet milestones and completion dates. Facilitate project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support ongoing progression. Work with the project team to identify and manage opportunities and risks to positively impact schedule and financial targets. Maintain, track, and report financial aspects of the project, including forecasts and billings. Facilitate the Project Quality Program to ensure materials are supplied and work is completed in accordance with requirements. Provide strong leadership to construction team members, capitalizing on individual and group strengths to achieve project targets. Qualifications 1015 years of relevant experience managing powerline construction or similar utility/industrial construction projects. 3+ years of cumulative experience estimating powerline construction projects. Previous experience as a Project Manager or in a similar direct managerial/supervisory role. Postsecondary education in Construction, Engineering or a related discipline (asset). Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, current construction practices and methodology. Strong negotiation and management skills. Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule. Strong understanding of construction costs and budgets. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders. Ability to identify constructability issues and create solutions for the construction plan and schedule. Track record of building successful teams and promoting teamwork through motivation, coaching and consensusbuilding. Effective organizational and planning skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Working Conditions Sites throughout Ontario with various possible shifts (e.g., 5/2, 10/4, or 14/7). Officebased position when not on projects. Compensation $102,000.00 $140,250.00 (base pay; individual base pay determined by experience, knowledge, skills, education and location).
